Ride Names above our Avatar?

Post by BrianPlencner »

Steven,

Not sure how long this has been there, but I noticed today names of rides above the member avatars, but below our member name.

For example, see the attached image below

Image

I am guessing the ride names have to do with either the number of posts you have made to the site, or the length you have been a member.

So far, I've seen just the names above. Any way you could let us in on what else we may see above our names? :D

Keep up the good work on the site Steven.

Yeah, I've noticed this too

You don't need an avatar to have one either, I've also seen Gulf Coaster and Willard's Whizzer. I thought at first that it was the posters favorite ride or something, but I didn't remember answering anything about the Tidal Wave. So yeah... I like the photo gallery idea Steven.
The rides are GREAT, the shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT, at Marriott's Great America! REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA, REMEMBER Marriott's GREAT AMERICA!

I've been on several forums that use the same message board...

You're right it has to do with the number of posts you make....It's your rank....

For example on a Buffett news board, I'm ranked at "Need two more Boat Drinks"

I think I'm still "Gulf Coaster" on this site though :(

Yes, they are user ranks, based on the number of posts you've made. They are assigned automatically on an ascending basis with names of rides from the early Marriott years. Buzzy Bee, one of the infamous original kiddie rides designates the beginners here. Right now, the Tidal Wave is the highest rank because it was considered to be the most thrilling ride in the parks back in the day.

I quietly set the ranks and activated them last week. Thanks for noticing!

It's pretty cool, looks like I have about 30 more or so before I change rank :)

Yankee Clipper is a nice rank. I always enjoyed working on that ride- climbed all over it many times. The view from the lift was great!

Now if you gave a ranking for long-winded posts, I could make Tidal Wave. . . or something higher . . .

I like this feature. Other boards I post on do the same. Reminds me of waiting to be tall enough for the newest attraction!

Once I reach Tidal I'll probably stop posting! Unless of course Demon becomes available to someone with say, 1,000 posts lol.
