Yes, the County Fair station (Fairgrounds Junction) is now a queue house for Psycho Mouse.

I get the two stations mixed up sometimes, PGA doesn't mention the areas now (except for a few orleans place spots), but now we're all clear thanks Steven!

Gurnee Edge pics

Post by Tech Services 1 »

I've uploaded a few pics taken from the top of The Edge to my album (though technically they're not Installation or demolition pics- those shots will be uploaded later).

There were some emergency speakers to be removed from the tower, which was my excuse for going up there with my camera- I knew at the time the ride was coming down, and no one would ever see the park from that vantage point again!
Enjoy!

Those pics are amazing! As are the ones of the train station moving (which I am responding to in a different thread.) I'm anxious to see what other treasures you have to share with us!! :)

I love all the pictures of the bolts from other rides. Everyone has pics of removed rides. I am posting a pic of an existing ride. In this picture the green bolt is from Rolling Thunder. I got it when it sat in the employee lot. The second is from Batman the ride. I guess they will change the bolts every now and then... That is probably why it is still intact. On one of the many track walks I went on while I worked at that ride I spotted this sitting under the section of transfer track. I really miss the fun I had while working in the park.

Great photos Tech Services 1. Really nice views of the edge and I like the photo which shows the delta flyer. Looking at the Zforce photos, I am wondering what the blue and white building is near the train station, while I was working at the park at this time, I dont remember it. I don't think the ferris wheel had a covered que line, so my guess is a food or merch stand.

That was the Home Plate Sundae Shoppe next to the train station. Check out the latest picture in my new album- "Z-Force":

I've also created an album for The Edge with pictures of the ride being dismantled.

I'm glad everyone likes the pictures!

Once again, great photos! :D I especially like the winter photo of Z Force with the snow.

Also, you have a nice collection of the Wilderness theater area.
I remember the Edge being taken down. I picked up an orange bolt off the ground, (which I still have).

To this day I don't know why I never picked up a "souvenir" piece of The Edge, considering the fact I was ALL over that thing when it came down. :?
I actually have about three dozen different pictures of the dismantling process, from many angles.
I also took a photo of the Ride Ops manager and the Edge supervisor standing in the "top" section while it was sitting on the service road by the Tidal Wave. Another one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments!

Glad you like the pics!

Thanks for posting the photo of the Home plate Sundae Shoppe Tech Service 1. I do not remember that building; However, I do remember riding the ferris wheel beind it. Any chance you have a photo of the ferris wheel? Nobody else seems to have one so far.

Also, It seems as though your MGA photo collection is quite large. Perhaps you hold the answer to this thread:
http://www.greatamericaparks.com/forums ... .php?t=248.
regarding the Hilltopper, later called the Industiral Revolution. I remember riding this ride but have not had any luck find photos it.

You're welcome!
As for the Ferris Wheel and Hilltopper and/or Industrial Revolution, I doubt that I have any photos specifically of those rides, but they may appear in the background of other photo subjects. If I find something, I'll post it with a link in their threads.
